    A Tour Into Travel Nursing

Travel Nursing has started to gain a momentum in the United States. As the nursing shortage has worsened, travel nursing are reported a boom in US. Travel nursing seem to be helping with the nursing shortage yet some people disclose that it only makes it worse as nurses leave an area to seek an assignment elsewhere. Nonetheless, travel nursing has made a new option with underlying advantages for our health care providers.
Travel nursing has been around for a number of years yet it's only these days that has gained popularity due to its practicality. Previously, professional nurses found it more lucrative to accept overtime at work and prefer staying at home due to the expenses of traveling. Travel nursing nowadays though has become more affordable. Economic stability and government support has made nurse travel possible in order to reach locations needing complementary nurse care services. Reportedly, California has the current largest market for travel nurses with the hopes of diminishing the acute shortage of nurses in California by opening approximately 14,000 jobs for travel nurses from other districts. This in turn captures the recognition of prospective nurses escalating the enrolment for nursing degrees.
Among the advantages of travel nursing is being able to enjoy the opportunity to travel while earning a higher salary. Travel nursing allows entitled nurses to travel to dissimilar locations for short assignments giving them an option to temporarily relocate in several states to determine if they would like to survive there permanently. Yet apart from the pleasure and option of travel, travel nurses are also given the benefit of having free housing as well as medical and financial benefits, pay for travel costs, and food stipends. Their salaries though are dependent upon their responsibility, specialty and experience in the profession. Salaries may also be higher in inconvenient locations needing nurse care. Generally though, the hourly rates of travel nurses range from $22-$35. Hospitals typically pay 20% more for travel nursing personnel than for direct employees. These nurses can make about twice as much as they would as a staff nurse! Plus they can pick and select where they want to work and when. Rules about mandatory overtime and weekends and holidays work don't apply to them so they can work as much or as little as they want.

On the bad side, hospitals and doctors have expressed worries that temporary nurse staff may cost time to familiarize the new nurses with a clear cut hospital, its doctors, the community's medical culture, the equipment, and the hospital protocol and procedures making them inapt in the emergency room and ICU.

Nonetheless, travel nursing has been useful for hospitals having difficulty recruiting and hiring permanent staff nurses therefore filling the gap of required nurses allowing hospitals to aid more patients. As of course, young nurses just love travel.
